Public Relations Committee

Creating a dynamic and engaging environment that attracts new Members, retains existing ones, and strengthens the overall organization.

PROGRAMS

Americanism Essay Contest – A program of the Elks’ Grand Lodge Fraternal Committee, this contest is geared towards students in 5th through 8th grades to promote patriotism among young people.

Dictionary Project – It’s primary focus is to promote literacy to children in third-grade as they transition from learning how to read to identify and use information.

Hoop Shoot…The Elks Hoop Shoot highlights the Elks commitment to America’s youth through their annual free throw basketball contest.

Elks Drug Awareness Program – The largest volunteer drug awareness program in the United States. The Elks are committed to eliminating the use and abuse of illegal drugs by all members of society.

Scholarships – Ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.

Community Investments – Invests in Elks communities through Lodge grants that help Elks meet local needs.

Honoring Public Safety Heroes – Every Elks Lodge can pay homage and express our gratitude to our nation’s heroes. Sadly, every day a tragic event results in the death of a police officer, firefighter, or emergency medical responder. The loss of life by those who provide our protection leaves not only their families but each one of us searching for the reason why.

Veterans Services – Honoring our veterans with special events, meals, and ceremonies in our Lodges to let them know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifices.
